Covid-19: Over Two Hundred Students Vaccinated In The Ongoing Africa CDC Projects

Over two hundred students in lafia and akwanga local government area of Nasarawa state have s far been vaccinated against covid-19 in the ongoing Africa Centre for disease control savings lives and Livelihood projects.
Speaking on the rational behind the campus sensitization at the college of education akwanga the social mobilization officer akwanga local government Vengegyang Altine Simon said the campus sensitization was aimed at improving the healthcare of the student through mobilization and vaccination on Covid-19.
She explain that the exercise would enhance chances of students intending to go for national youth service corps and abroad to study because they must present their covid-19 vaccination card as a supporting document without which they may risk going for national youth service and abroad for study
Speaking after receiving the Jab of the covid-19 vaccine, some students of College of Education Akwanga comrades Ewuga, Gody Markus, Tehenme John and Isaac Charity all expressed happiness and called on other students on the campus to get the covid-19 vaccine.
Earlier the Nasarawa state team of the Africa Centre for Disease Control saving lives and livelihood project in his office, Provost College of Education Akwanga Dr Jonathan Thani lauded the effort and initiative of the African Union, and African CDC for bringing the covid-19 vaccine to the institution
Highlighting the objectives of the African CDC Saving Lives and Livelihood project in the state, the branch communication officer, of the Nigerian Red Cross Society Nasarawa state branch, Barnabas Asoloko said the project is ongoing in all 36 states of the federation including the FCT.
The campus sensitization had over 80 students tested for and vaccinated against covid-19 at the Isa mustapha agwai polytechnic lafia and 126 students tested and vaccinated at college of education Akwanga .
Asoloko also noted that the covid-19 Rapid diagnostic test was carried out by nasarawa state ministry of health with support from world health organisation.
