” You must embrace peace and tolerate one another in the interest of your legislative duties and for the overall development of your area and the state at large.

He said that no council would achieve meaningful progress and development, if councillors are not in good terms with each other and with the Chairman.

The Chairman also directed them not to have sitting again, pending final resolution on the crisis as they are expected to return next week Thursday for final decision at the State House of Assembly.

Leaders of the two factions welcomed the State Assembly intervention and promised to restore peace in the local government.

The councilors are expected to return next week Thursday for final decision of the State House of Assembly.

For more than a month now, Doma Local Government Legislative Council has been on the news following the swearing in of a councilor representing Sarkin Dawaki electoral ward as a result of court judgement, impeachments moves on the Speaker as well as the Chairman causing crisis that has torn the council into two factions.
