Universities To Support Africa CDC  On Covid-19 Sensitization Project

The management of Nasarawa state university keffi has expressed willingness to support ongoing campus Sensation by Africa Centre for Diseases Control Saving Lives and Livelihoods Project to institutions across the country.

Vice Chancellor of the institution, Professor Suleiman Bala Mohammed gave the assurance when he played host to the state Project team who were on a three-day sensitisation testing and vaccination on Covid 19 in the institution.

Represented by the dean Student affairs Division of Nasarawa state university Keffi, Professor A.S Modibo, said with the admission of over 11,000 new students in 100 level this semester, Sensitisation and vaccination would go a long in improving the health status of the students.

The Vice-Chancellor called on all stakeholders on the campus to collaborate with Red Cross and Africa CDC to save lives and the Livelihoods team to attain 100% against Covid-19 safety. 

Briefing the management and staff of the campus on the project, health secretary Keffi Local government area comrade Abdullahi Adeka who represented the executive secretary Nasarawa State Primary Healthcare Development Agency said the project is to give support and compliment the Scale 3.0 initiative of the National Primary Healthcare Development Agency.

Speaking earlier, branch Secretary of the Nigerian Red Cross Nasarawa State branch, Mr. Jerry Kuje stated that the Red Cross through the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Society is championing the Risk Communication and Community Engagement of the project with close collaboration and partnership with the Nasarawa State Primary Healthcare Development Agency.

Kuje explained that various  programs have been carried out in the saving lives and Livelihoods project with the aim of getting the community to support in the fight against Covid-19.

The Africa CDC saving lives and Livelihoods campus Sensitisation and vaccination will last three days and will include Rapid Diagnostic Testing for Covid-19 by the Nasarawa State Ministry of Health with support from the World Health Organization.
