NGO Empowers Two Thousand Widows In Nasarawa State

Over two thousand widows in Nasarawa State are to be empowered courtesy of a Non governmental organization known as the JEK foundation.
The empowerment is expected to be through provision of funds to assist the widows to set up businesses
At the distribution of Cash and wrappers to the first batch of widows at the ECWA Good news Church GRA Lafia, founder of the organization Mr. Jacob Obande said the gesture borne out of the zeal to assist the women to be self reliant.
He explained that having witnessed his mother went through as a widow, there is need for government, wealthy individuals and organisations to empower less privileged women in the society.
Speaking on behalf of the widows who benefitted from the donation, Miss Priscilla Gatu expressed satisfaction with the support and promised to spend it wisely.
She used the medium and called on spirited individuals to emulate him in order to reduce the suffering face by some widows in the society.
