Aondona Dajo Sworn In As Speaker Benue 10th Assembly

Member representing Gboko-west Aondona Dajo has been elected as the speaker of the tenth Benue state House of Assembly.

Mr Dajo scored seventeen votes to defeat Mrs Bercky Orpin who received fifteen votes after they both tied sixteen-sixteen votes in the first round of election while Mrs Lami Danladi representing Ado state constituency emerged as the Deputy speaker.

In his remarks after being administered oath of allegiance and office by the clerk,Mr Bernard Nule, the speaker thanked his colleagues for believing in him and promised not to disappoint them.

While Inaugurating the Assembly,Governor Hycinth Alia congratulated members elect saying that there were elected as agent of change and enjoined them to be guided by the trust.

Governor Alia described the legislative arm as an institution that plays a unique role side by side the Judiciary and promised not to interfere in the business of the House.
