Tribunal Admits Additional Documents Produced by INEC in Nasarawa State

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC has produced additional documents through one of it staff, Mohammed Ibrahim pursuant to the subpoena issued by the Nasarawa State Election Petition Tribunal and served on INEC following the application of the governorship candidate of PDP, Dr. Emmanuel Ombugadu.
The documents produced were certified copies of Polling Units results and voters register of identified polling units in Lafia, Doma, Toto and Awe local government areas of the state.
While tendering the documents, Counsel to the petitioner, Samuel Okutepa prayed the the three man panel of justices to admit the documents as evidence and mark as exhibit.
However, counsels to INEC, Ishaku Dikko, SAN and that of the APC, Adelolun Adebayo, SAN and Governor Abdullahi Sule, Hassan Liman, SAN objected to the admissibity of the documents.
But, the panel of Justices led by Justice Ezekiel Ajayi admitted all the documents in evidence and accordingly marked as Exhibits.
The Petitioners also called additional 3 witnesses including Polling Unit Agent for Alwazan Polling Unit, sabon gari electoral ward agent and Ashige electoral ward agent to testify before the tribunal to support the petitioners case.
All the Petitioners’ witnesses identified the various electoral forms and materials already tendered in evidence which they referred to in their various witness depositions.
After listening to the 4 witnesses, the Tribunal adjourned to Wednesday, 26th July, 2023 for continuation of hearing.
