Protest In Kogi: Workers Seek Reversal Of Policies

The organised Labour in Kogi State has called for reversal of the current pump price of Petrol, immediate fixing of the nation’s refineries, and immediate implementation of resolutions reached between Congress and federal government.
Kogi State Chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, Amari Gabriel made the call after leading the protest of workers to the Government House, Lokoja.
While presenting a letter of demands to the government, Amari also listed payment of 8 months salary arrears owed University lecturers as well reversal of school fees and value added tax among its demands.
The NLC Chairman decried the untold hardship brought about by the various economic policies noting that all facets of life had been negatively affected
Receiving the letter of protest on behalf of Government, Kogi State Deputy Governor, Chief Edward David Onoja acknowledged the orderliness and peaceful conduct of the workers noting that every citizen had been truly affected by the policies.
Chief Onoja promised to relay the demands of the organised Labour to Governor Yahaya Bello for onward transmission to President Bola Tinubu
