Trainees of the Wing Commander Abdullahi Ibrahim Vocational and Technology Institute Lafia ,have been advised to deploy the skills acquired to enable them to become employers of labour and wealth creators.

Governor Abdullahi Sule gave the advice at the graduation ceremony of the second batch of Seventy Trainees of Industrial Training Fund,ITF and Nigeria Employers Consultative Association,NECA Technical Skills Project of the Institute in Lafia.

The Governor said his administration will continue to scale up skills acquisition programmes for youths in the state to make them become better citizens in the society.
He commended the management and staff of Wing Commander Abdullahi Ibrahim Vocational and Technology Institute ,ITF and NECA for their efforts in inculcating skills in the youths to reduce unemployment.

Director General of ITF, Sir Joseph Ari, represented by the area manager of Lafia office, Mrs Phoebe Kasham and Director General of NECA ,Mr Adewale Smart both lauded the joint initiative between ITF and NECA which gave birth to the technical skills development project which will ease
availability of manpower with technical and vocational skills to satisfy the needs of industries and reduce unemployment in the country.

The Executive Director of the Institute, Doctor Daniel Asele disclosed that the institute has forty different skills to include Information and Communication Technology, Fashion Design,adding that
will not relent in its efforts to produce employers of labour and commended the trainees for been of good conduct through out the period of training.

State Commissioner for Science,Technology and Innovation, Samuel Emgba and his Education counterpart,John Maman,charged the graduands to use the skills acquired to better their lives.

Some of the graduands,Halima Musa,Kabiru Idris and Paulina Samuel described the training as fruitful and commended the state government and partners for creating an enabling environment for them to acquire different skills.

Highlights of the event were presentation of designed clothes to Governor Abdullahi Sule and the Deputy Governor, Emmanuel Akabe, Certificates and awards to the best graduating students at the institute.
