Nasarawa Govt Commences Distribution of FG Palliative

Nasarawa State Government has pledged continuous collaboration with the Federal Government to reduce the impact of fuel subsidy removal on residents of the State.

The State Deputy Governor, Doctor Emmanuel Akabe made the pledge at the official launch of the first phase of Federal Government ‘s distribution of palliative at Idadu,Ekye Development area of the State

Doctor Akabe disclosed that four thousand bags of seven point five kilograms of rice and two hundred bags of one hundred kilograms of maize as well as five million naira were distributed to beneficiaries from the seventy two polling units of the four electoral wards in Ekye Development Area.

The Deputy Governor said the gesture was part of the five billion naira allocated to each state by the federal government for the procurement of rice and grains for citizens to reduce their sufferings.

Commissioner for Special Duties on Humanitarian Services and Non Governmental Organisations’ Princess Margaret Elayo while expressing gratitude to the federal government for coming to the aid of poor and vulnerable citizens, reiterated the commitment of her ministry towards meeting expectations on poverty reduction and boosting the welbeing of people of the state.

Representative of the Otoshoho of Agbashi and Osakpa of Okpanaja, Mallam Musa Abari Egye thanked the federal and state government for the gesture lauding the manner the distribution was handled.

Similar exercise was done at the Doma Local Government Council Secretariat where the Deputy governor announced a cash donation of seven point five million naira and presented one thousand bags of fifty kilograms of rice and three hundred bags of one hundred kilograms of maize to representatives of the beneficiaries from the one hundred and forty two polling units of the six electoral wards of the area.

Some beneficiaries,Garba Dari and Elizabeth Daniel, appreciated the federal and state government for providing the palliative which will go a long way in alleviating their sufferings.

The distribution of palliative will continue in all the thirteen local government areas of the state in phases.
