Kano Governor to appeal tribunal verdict, calls for calm

In response to the recent verdict of the election petition tribunal in Kano, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has announced that he has instructed his party’s legal team to prepare and proceed with an appeal to the higher court.

The Governor made this announcement during a state broadcast from the government house in Kano, where he expressed his dissatisfaction with the tribunal’s decision.

He cited what his legal team considers multiple legal errors in the verdict, making it imperative for them to seek redress at the Appeal Court.

Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf used the opportunity to urge the people of the state to remain calm and avoid taking the law into their own hands.

He assured them that security agencies were diligently working to ensure peace and harmony.

The State has imposed a 24 hour curfew after the tribunal verdict.
