Nasarawa State Govt Committed To Welfare Of Persons With Disabilities

Persons with disabilities across Nasarawa state will continue to be accorded due priority by the Ministry for Special Duties on Humanitarian, Social Services and NGOs.

Commissioner in charge of the Ministry, Princess Margaret Elayo stated this at the distribution of six hundred and twenty bags of rice to persons with disability in Lafia the state capital .

Princesses Margaret Elayo emphasized that every member of the society deserves respect, love and support, irrespective of their physical, ethic and political affiliation.

She called on persons with disability to come forward and register with the ministry to enable them discover their God giving talent,and to desist from visiting offices to solicit for alms or begging on the street.

In a remark, Head of Special School Lafia, Doctor Yakubu Andrew commended the ministry for ensuring that persons with disability benefit from the Palliative, while calling on persons with disability to see themselves as special creatures.

Speaking with Radio Nigeria, Some beneficiaries, Mr Alex Esson, Umar Dahiru, Hafsat Adamu and Mallam Hassan Adogo thanked the state Government and the Humanitarian Commissioner for reducing their sufferings.

Each of the beneficiary went home with seven point five kilogram bag of rice.
