24hrs TRAVSI NGO seeks collaboration with Godwin Obla Foundation on accident victims, women in labour

continuation to providing services to humanity especially in area of road accident and women in labour, the Road Accidents Victims Support Initiative (TRAVSI), a Non-Governmental Organisation has sought collaboration with Godwin Obla Foundation.

In a visit to the Otukpo-based Foundation, Founder/CEO of TRAVSI, Gaddafi Asemanya, said the visit was mainly to seek support in providing basic first aid support to road accidents victims, securing properties of victims, evacuation from accident scenes to health facilities and payments for treatment of victims.

According to TRAVSI is also seeking assistance on ways to recovery bodies in the case of death as well as the provision of a wider platform for greater participation of both Government and private stakeholders in road accident victims’ rights.

Asemanya said his organization had noted the notable activities of Chief Godwin Odumu Obla, SAN, and his Foundation, in areas of health, education, support for widows and vulnerable children and the two organization could partner effectively.

According to him, other organisations that could be involved in the collaboration are the Federal Road Safety Commission, Red Cross and Crescent, Nigeria Police, Peace Corps, Civil Defense Corps, Vigilante Groups, media and telecommunication firms.

He explained that it was the desire of his organization that the Foundation should support it with a functional ambulance with oxygen facilities and other components, to enable it move patients with kidney problems, as well as accidents survivors, to access the dialysis services at the Judith Ogwa Obla Memorial Kidney Centre, Otukpo to prevent premature deaths.

The Director General of Godwin Obla Foundation, Elder Michael Ubah Obande expressed gratitude to TRAVSI for identifying with the Foundation.

He appreciated their services to humanity in rendering support to accident victims and women in labour and promised to discuss the TRAVSI proposal with his Board with the view to establishing a service-oriented working relationship in line with the giving-back-to-the-society philosophy.

24hrs TRAVSI NGO is a volunteer Organisation domiciled in Makurdi, Benue State since 2017 delivering first responder support to victims of road accidents and women in labour.

In conjunction with Bishop Murray Hospital, Makurdi, the Police, FRSC, Red Cross and NSCDC, thousands of lives have been saved through their activities.
