The management of Benue State University (BSU), Makurdi, says all medical students in 200 to 600 levels were suspended because they planned to destroy the institution’s facilities through protests.

The management disclosed this in a statement signed by Tser Vanger, Principal Assistant Registrar (Information & Public Relations) of the varsity, in Makurdi on Thursday.

The management said that despite an agreement with the students after a series of meetings, they endorsed themselves and resolved to boycott lectures, leading to their suspension.

The management got wind of clandestine moves by the affected students to disrupt their academic activities over sundry grievances.

It said that the vice-chancellor, Tor Iorapuu, had delegated the deputy vice-chancellor (administration), Mike Odey, and other management staff to dialogue with students to address their concerns.
