Groups Calls on ADA Electoral Committee to Obey Court Injunction

Prominent Alago Traditional rulers and Board of Trustees of the Socio cultural group,Alago Development Association ADA have been called upon to urgently intervene in the current impasse over election of new officials to run affairs of the national body of the Association.

Briefing newsmen in Lafia on behalf of some delegates for the election,Mr Iliya Ashokpa said the call became imperative to check the excesses of the electoral committee..

Mr Ashokpa described a purported election held recently by the committee as null and void as it is against a subsisting court order stopping the conduct of the exercise .

Mr Iliya Ashokpa explained that the court order followed removal of some Alago communities from participating in the election and changing of the delegate list.

He observed that if not checked,the activities of the electoral committee would destroy the unity and progress of Alago nation.

In a telephone interview, secretary of the Elcom.Doctor Ose Salihu Oyakata confirmed that there was a court order restraining the committee from conducting the election pending determination of the case on notice..

The election of officials into the Alago Development Association ADA was initially scheduled to hold on the 4th of November 2023.
