Insecurity, Militancy in the Middle Belt of Nigeria

The unity of the Middle Belt in confronting insecurity bedeviling it has been stressed.
Governor Caleb Mutfwang recommended this cause when he received former Governor of Benue State Senator Gabriel Suswam who paid him a condolence and congratulatory visit at the Governor’ s residence, Rayfield.
Governor Mutfwang noted that owing to the strategic location of the middle belt coupled with its advantage in agricultural production,it had become necessary for states in the region to unite and confront the menace.
He charged the former Governor to join other stakeholders in addressing issue that led to the opposition taking over power in Benue State.
Earlier, Senator Gabriel Suswam said he was in the State to condole with the people over the unfortunate Christmas Eve attack and to also congratulate him on his Victory at the supreme court.
Those on the former Benue State Governor’s convoy included the North Central Vice chairman of the PDP while former plateau State Governor Da Jonah Jang was on hand to receive him amongst other top government officials.
