Rector IMAP to Proceed on Leave, Governor Sule Dissolved Governing Council

Governor Abdullahi Sule has asked the Rector, Isa Mustapha Agwai l Polytechnic Lafia, Dr. Justina Anjiode-Kotso to proceed on a compulsory leave with immediate effect pending the final determination of the visitation panel’s report earlier sent to the institution.

In a statement signed by the Secretary to the Government of Nasarawa State, Barr. Muhammad Ubandoma Aliyu and made available to this medium on Friday in Lafia, said the decision was to allow the whitepaper committee on the report of the visitation panel to carry out its assignment without any interference.

It added that all properties of the institution in the possession of the Governing Council and the Rector should be handed over to the appropriate officer who is not a member of the institution’s Governing Council pending the final determination of the visitation panel of the polytechnic.

Consequently, Governor Sule has also suspended the Governing Council of the polytechnic with immediate effect.

Last year, Governor Abdullahi Sule had approved the constitution of a 10-member visitation panel to the Isa Mustapha Agwai I Polytechnic Lafia, chaired by Engr. Rabiu Ali to examine compliance with the application of funds especially the Internally Generated Revenue, grants, and other accruals to the institution.

Inaugurating the panel by the SSG, Barr. Aliyu, charged them to ensure strict adherence to decent responsibility irrespective of any sentiments, tasking them to work in a more diligent and professional manner as that government was determined to meticulously study the findings of the panel and implement its recommendations promptly.
