Nigerians Urge to Return to God to Overcome Economic and Political Challenges
Nigerians have been urged to return to the path of God by seeking forgiveness and engaging in soul searching for the nation to overcome its socio-economic and political challenges.
Former Director General of Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, FRCN, Doctor Ladan Salihu made the call at the second Ramadan Lecture organized by Radio Nigeria North Central Zone and Precious FM in Lafia, the Nasarawa State capital.
Correspondent Kalu Idika reports that the topic of the Ramadan lecture is Islamic Financing: Panacea for Nigeria’s economic problems.
The Ramadan Lecture whose theme sought to proffer solutions to the financial challenges confronting Nigerians based on islamic perspective, brought together top state government functionaries, Islamic clerics, judicial officers,the police and other sister paramilitary agencies, media professionals and representatives of Federation of Muslim Women Association in Nigeria, FOMWAN.
The Former Director General of FRCN, Doctor Ladan Salihu who was also the chairman of the Ramadan Lecture stressed the need for Nigerians to commence what he described as a regime of soul searching and refrain from criticizing those in leadership positions and the government without profering solutions.
The Newly crowned Barden Yanman Bauchi lamented that the country was currently suffering from acute disconnect from the youth, Children and scholarship and called on the citizens not to doubt Allah who he said is capable of solving all the problems bedeviling the nation
Doctor Ladan commended the Zonal Director of FRCN North Central Zone, Mallam Haruna Idris and the management of Precious FM for organizing the lecture emphasizing the need for it sustenance.
Speaking on the topic, “Islamic Financing: Panacea for Nigeria’s economic problems, Professor Aliyu Tanko Baitullah, stated that the essence of Ramadan is to stabilise the economy and wondered why some Muslim faithful indulge in wasteful spending before, during and after the Holy month.
Professor Baitullah Called on Nigerians to shun corruption as they will all give account of their deeds before Allah in the hereafter.
The Zonal Director of FRCN North Central Zone, Mallam Haruna Idris in a welcome address stated that the topic was carefully selected to find solutions to the current economic challenges being faced by Nigerians.
