NBTE Appeal for More Technical Courses at the Nations Universities

The National Board for Technical Education, NBTE says, the establishment of Skills acquisition centres in all Technical Institutions in the country is henceforth a prerequisite for accreditation of new courses in the country.

Executive Secretary of the National Board for Technical Education NBTE Professor Idris Baguje disclosed this when he paid a working visit to Governor Caleb Mutfwang at the Government House, Little Rayfield in Jos,the plateau State capital

Professor Idris Baguje who was in the state in continuation of the accreditation exercise for Plateau State Polytechnic said the move became necessary in view of the rising cases of unemployment.

Represented by the team leader, Engineer Ebenezer Onucha, Professor Idris said when established, graduants from such centres would be certified to enable them apply for work in all sectors of the country.

He applauded the Governor for approving the employment of new staff and stated further that any delay in the accreditation of courses would be henceforth penalized.

Responding, Governor Caleb Mutfwang expressed optimism that the visit would help improve the quality of learning and emphasized the need for the alignment of technical education.

Governor Mutfwang assured the board of State Government’s readiness to change the narrative of the education sector in the State.
