Nasarawa Gov Assures Support To Restore Facilities Destroyed by Rainstorm

Deputy Governor of Nasarawa State Doctor Emmanuel Akabe has visited the state-owned broadcasting station to assess facilities damaged by the recent thunderstorm.

Doctor Akabe who inspected the facilities damaged in Lafia, assured that efforts were on top towards bringing the station back on air.

He directed the commissioner of Information, culture and tourism to liaise with the management of NAEPA and the NBS to work out modalities that will ensure restoration of the sources of power and subsequent replacement of facilities that were damaged.

While appreciating the efforts of the station’s engineers to ensure that the media house is not completely shut down, Doctor Akabe pledged the state Government’s readiness to get the station back on air.

Executive Vice Chairman of the NBS, Mallam Awwalu Salihu who expressed concern over the level of damage caused by the thunderstorm stated that some vital equipment was ravaged by the incident.

Awwalu Salihu expressed optimism that full transmission would soon be restored.
