Emir Sanusi assumes duties, holds first palace siting
Barely 24 hours after receiving letter of appointment as the 16th Emir of Kano, Emir Muhammad Sanusi conducts first palace sitting.
The Emir dressed in a colourful traditional attire rode a horse from the inner Emirs residence to the main palace at Kofar kudu to commence his first official engagement.
Emir Sanusi was received at the palace by senior counselors of the palace and moved straight to sit on the throne.
As the tradition of the palace entails, all the district heads and traditional tittle holders were lined up, paying homage to the reinstated Emir.
Hundreds of well wishers trooped to the palace to felicitate the reinstated Emir.
