Nasarawa State Commissioner For Special Duties Empowers 30 Small Scale Businesses in 13 LGAs

Thirty Small Scale Business Women across the thirteen Local Government Areas of Nasarawa State have received Automated Teller Machine, ATM Card each with a hundred thousand naira to support their businesses to make them self-reliant.
Commissioner for Special Duties on Humanitarian, Social Services and NGOs, Princess Margaret Itake Elayo stated this at an event marking the one year in office of the second term tenure of Governor Abdullahi Sule in Lafia the Nasarawa State Capital.
The event was put together to celebrate the entrepreneurial spirit and resilience of the thirty Small Scale businesswomen and affirm Governor Abdullahi Sule’s commitment to supporting and empowering women to become self-reliant.
Speaking at the event, the Commissioner for Special Duties on Humanitarian, Social Services and NGOs, Princess Margaret Elayo, described women as the backbone of every nation’s economy, role models and pillars of communities that should be supported to contribute to societal growth.
Princess Margaret who said the empowerment is her little way of giving back to society, assured of the government’s resolve to support them in their journey to prosperity owing to the socio-economic challenges in the country.
Addressing the gathering, Governor, Abdullahi Sule applauded Princess Margaret Elayo for the giant stride aimed at empowering women across the state and urged other political appointees to emulate her gesture for development to stride.

Chairman Lafia Local Government who is also the National President of the Association of Local Government Chairmen of Nigeria, ALGON, Aminu Mu’azu Maifata Affirmed the collaborative efforts of the ministry with local governments on the distribution of palliative to nooks and crannies of the state, promising to sustain the synergy.
On their parts, the All Progressives Party Chairman in the State, Alhaji Aliyu Bello and the Osana of Kana, Alhaji Abdullahi Amegwa Agbo commended the humanitarian goodwill of the Commissioner, urging the beneficiaries to ensure the proper investment of the empowerment funds.
Speaker Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Danladi Jatau represented by the Member Representing Awe North, Hudu Alhaji Hudu, assured the gathering that they would continue to enact laws that would make life worthwhile for the citizenry.
Some of the beneficiaries who spoke to Radio Nigeria Precious FM, Sarah Agyekonye, Aisha Maidoya and Martha Abraham thanked the humanitarian gesture of Princess Margaret Elayo.
The beneficiaries also went home with clothing by Princess Margaret Elayo, while Governor Abdullahi Sule and some stakeholders supported her efforts with cash donations to be deposited to the beneficiaries’ bank accounts
