Nigerian Army Sensitises Students On Patriotism To The Nation, Donates Instructional Materials To Commemorate NADEL’s Day

The Nigerian Army says it will continue to use combat and non-combat operations in fighting criminal elements towards the overall safety of the nation.

The Commander, Twelfth Brigade of the Nigerian Army, Brigadier General Haruna Dasuki stated this in a message to a Public Speaking Engagement organised as part of the Nigerian Army Day Celebration, NADEL, at the GYB Model Science School in Lokoja.

Represented by Lieutenant Colonel Buda Magaji, the Commander said the Army operations across the nation under the leadership of the Chief of Army Staff, COAS, Lieutenant General Taoheed Lagbaja aims to bring activities of criminals and criminal elements to an end to a safer society using the carrot and stick approach

He said the public engagement speaking among selected schools across the country was meant to showcase the capabilities, integration and career opportunities inherent in the Nigerian Army.

In a talk on ethical topics and career prospects in the Nigerian Army, the Twelfth Brigade Education Officer, Major Azi Musa Izang highlighted the need for the students to be patriotic citizens of the country, avoid vices capable of affecting thier future as well as need to venture into the Nigerian Army for a fulfilling military career in the nearest future.

In his remarks, the Principal GYB Model Science School, Adankolo Lokoja, Chief Ajofe Godwin Yakubu expressed appreciation to the Twelfth Brigade of the Nigerian Army for finding the school worthy for the programme as well for the donation of instructional materials for the usage of both Staff and students.

Some of the students who spoke after the programme expressed appreciation to the Nigerian Army for widening their understanding of its Constitutional roles as well as prospects for them in the future

Highlights of the occasion was symbolic presentation of instructional materials to the school, session of questions and answers, interactive session and presentation of video clips on the Nigerian Army constitutional roles, prospects in the Army amongst others
