long queue for Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), otherwise known as petrol or fuel resurfaced in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja and parts of Niger and Nasarawa States on Friday and Saturday, following the closure of many filling stations operated by independent marketers.

Motorists besieged the few stations that dispensed petrol, particularly those operated by the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd) and some major oil marketers in Abuja and neighbouring states.

The immediate cause of the latest queues remains unknown as filling stations in Lugbe, the Central Business District, Wuse, Kubwa, and Jabi areas of the FCT sold petrol at prices ranging between N660 to N800. While NNPC still sells at 619.

Black marketers could be seen with their jerrycans, selling petrol ranging between N1000 and N1200 per litre.
