SWAN Nasarawa State Chapter Elects New Officials

Newly elected officials of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria, SWAN, Nasarawa State chapter have been challenged to strictly live by the oath they have taken to move the union forward for the next three years.
National Secretary General of the Association who supervised the election process, Comrade lkenna Okonkwo threw the challenge while inaugurating the New Officials at the State NUJ Press Center in Lafia.
Comrade Okonkwo encouraged the new officials to initiate programme and projects that would benefit the association and people of State.
In his acceptance Speech, the Newly elected Chairman of SWAN in the State, Mr Smart George Josiah of the Nasarawa Broadcasting Service, NBS, promised to carry everyone along for the interest and development of the Association.

Mr Smart George Josiah of NBS Lafia defeated his opponent Mr Abari Solomon Dogara of NTA Lafia by 18 to 9 votes to emerged the New Chairman of the Association in the state.
Other officials elected include Umar Mohammed Daily Trust – Vice Chairman, Abel Leonard Secretary General -Daily SUN, Gwamna Umaru Nehemiah Radio Nigeria Precious FM Lafia – Financial Secretary while Akaa Ukile Esther of The Voice Newspaper as Treasurer.
