Cops Marshal Solicits Support Of Stakeholders To Reduce Road Crashes

The Corps Marshal, Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, Mr Shehu Mohammed has called for stakeholders” support towards reducing road accidents in the country.

The Corps Marshal who made the call while decorating the five newly appointed Deputy Corps Marshals said the Corps is coming up with new initiatives to reduce the carnage and its attendant fatalities.

According to Shehu Mohammed, road safety is a shared responsibility hence all hands must be on deck to check the menace..

He charged the newly appointed officers to redouble efforts as the public is expecting much from them.

The FRSC Corps Marshal emphasized that they should provide purposeful leadership that would bring about effective traffic management in the country.

He assured that the Corps would continue to work with international bodies to reduce Road accidents which according to the United Nations is the 8th cause of death globally.

Also at the event was a former Corps Marshal, Mr Ostia Chidoka who urged the new management of FRSC to invest in Manpower development and avoid any ethnic tendencies.

The former Corps Marshal, who was also a former minister of Aviation, stressed the need to always reward hardworking officers for increased output.

Speaking on behalf of the newly decorated Officers, Deputy Corps Marshal, Kingsley Agomoh pledged not to disappoint the country.

DCM Agomoh said this appointment would bring out the best in road management across the country.

Former Governor of Kaduna state Ramalan Yero, former minister of information, Mr Frank Nweke Junior, family and friends of the newly decorated senior officers attended the event.
