Nasarawa Lawmaker to Install 2000 Solar Street Lights in Constituency

In a bid to ensure that people at the rural area enjoy basic social amenities, the member representing Umaisha/Ugya constituency in the Nasarawa state House of Assembly , Sa’ad Ibrahim Abdullahi has awarded contract for the installation of Two Thousand solar powered street light to the Six electoral wards in his constituency.
The 2,000 solar street lights which has an estimated cost implication of 600 million naira at 300 hundred thousand naira each, would be installed in major streets and strategic locations of Umaisha,Ugya,Kanyehu,Katakpa,Shege and Dausu electoral wards.
Already, 50 of the solar street lights with 200 watts capacity have been installed in Umaisha town at the cost of 15 million naira.
Before now, major streets of Umaisha town, headquarters of Umaisha Development Area was in darkness as almost all the street lights previously installed were out of service..
A representative of the contractor from Lagos handling the project Mr Adeyemi Michael said the quality and voltage capacity of the solar powered light to be installed is second to none with improved capacity, innovations and high durability..
According to Mr Adeyemi the contract sum of Fifteen million naira has already been paid to the company by the Lawmaker for the initial installation of Fifty solar street light within Umaisha township roads.
The member representing Umaisha/Ugya state constituency of Nasarawa state, Sa’ad Ibrahim Abdullahi expressed his determination to improve the living conditions of people in his constituency by providing basic social amenities to them at the grassroots.
Sa’ad Ibrahim Abdullahi stated that the Solar street light installation would be in phases with Umaisha town first in line to be followed by other Electoral wards.
He explained that those often referred to as rural dwellers deserve better living thereby expressing his displeasure at the long neglect of people who are majority farmers that produces the Food consumed in the cities..
Saad Ibrahim Abdullahi also promised to provide other basic necessities to residents of his constituency, calling on them to continue to live in peace with each other and support the administration of Governor Abdullahi Sule towards bringing development to their communities.
The Lawmaker also made a passionate appeal to the Nasarawa state government to expedite action towards addressing the security situation and incessant attacks on Katakpa community to enable residents return to their homes..
