Nasarawa State Takes Step to Address Challenges of Erosion in Communities

The Nassarawa State Government is constructing Storm Water Management gully erosion sites in Lafia, Doma and Toto Local Government Areas of the state.

The project according to State Commissioner for Environment and Natural Resources Mr Yakubu Kwanta is in collaboration with World Bank.

Mr Kwanta while briefing newsmen in Lafia, explained that when completed, the sites would address the challenges associated with erosion and other environmental issues affecting the areas.

The Nasarawa State Coordinator of the Agro Climatic Resilience and Semi Arid Landscapes ACRESAL Dr. Napoleon Gyobe said the project was designed to boost Agricultural production and create more jobs.

Dr Gyobe applauded the Nasarawa state government for providing the needed support towards the actualization of the projects.
