FRCN Applauded for Standing as Flagship of Radio Broadcasting in Nigeria

An appeal has been made to the Management of Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria FRCN to create content in its programming and News that promotes cultural values and connects to the youths.

Governor Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau State made the appeal when he received the Committee of Management of the North Central Zone of the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, FRCN at the Government House, Little Rayfield, Jos.

The thirteenth Committee of Management meeting of the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria took place in Jos with management staff of the zonal office led by the Zonal Director Mallam Haruna Idris and General Managers of FM stations under the zone in attendance.

Receiving members of the committee of Management led by Mallam Haruna Idris, Governor Mutfwang applauded Radio Nigeria for standing as the flagship of Radio broadcasting in the country and described information management as critical to national development

He charged the corporation to boost its content by promoting cultural values through indigenous programmes assuring his administration’s collaboration to enhance service delivery

He further appreciated Highland FM Jos for its coverage of his administration’s activities and pledged to assist the station towards achieving its mandate.

Earlier, leader of the delegation and Zonal Director the North Central Director Mallam Haruna Idris informed the Governor that the committee was in the state for its quarterly meeting and stressed the need for the State Government to take advantage of Radio Nigeria’s wide coverage of informing the populace of its developmental strides

Mallam Idris lauded the Governor for his urban renewal policies,and other developmental initiatives as well as efforts in addressing the security challenges confronting the state.

The North Central Zonal Director also highlighted some challenges confronting both the local station and the zonal office and sought assistance of the State Government in reducing them for optimal service delivery to the teaming listeners in the state and country at large.
