IDPs in Mangu LGA, Plateau State to get Free Education

Internally Displaced Persons IDPs who are out of school in Mangu south constituency will soon realise their dreams of continuing Secondary Education.

This follows the commencement of a secondary school in Jwakas Community of Mangu Local Government area.

Series of attacks have surrounded several parts of Mangu local government forcing many families away from their ancestral homes as well as taking away their means of livelihood.

Most of these families are now staying with friends and relations while others remained in IDP camps.

The sight of the IDPs in Jwakas community which is sympathetic therefore attracted the representative of the area in the Plateau State House of Assembly mister Mathew Kwarpo to provide succour for their young ones to access education

A free holiday summer class was also organised for over two hundred pupils and students with eighteen top performing students from Junior secondary school one to senior secondary school three to benefit from payment of their first term fees and free exercise books.

The Mangu South legislator also distributed Fertilizers, Grains and Ten Thousand naira palliative to One Hundred vulnerable and IDPs in the Community to cushion the hardship faced.

Mr Caleb Inusa and Mrs Nansat Samuel are among the IDPs who expressed happiness with the gesture pointed out that it will assist in keeping the teenage IDPs from social vices .

Some of the students Success Nandom and Hosea Biplang stated that they benefited from the summer classes.

The Secondary School classes are to commence this month.
