Minimum Wage: Consequential Adjustment will be out soon; Labour Minister assures Workers

The Minister of State, Labour and Employment, Dr Nkeiruka Onyejeo says the consequential adjustment for the new National Minimum Wage for Workers will soon be out.

She stated this at town hall meeting with organised labour and workers in Abuja.

Dr Onyejeocha explained that the federal government was determined to come up a template that would enable workers enjoy the new minimum wage.

The Minister of State said President Bola Tinubu’s Administration remained committed to tackling headlong all socio-economic ills bedeviling the country.

The Guest Speaker and lecturer at the Department of Political Science, Nasarawa state University, Prof George Ogenyi urged the federal government to leverage on local production of fuel for economic stability.

Prof Ogenyi urged the federal government to stabilize the pump price of PMS and address youth unemployment.

” Unemployment rate was at 4.1% considered very high according to National Bureau of Statistics(NBS, 2023)” Prof Ogenyi stated.

He stated that the eight point agenda of President Bola Tinubu represent a comprehensive blueprint to national growth and development.

Organized labour and other stakeholders called on the government at all levels to priortize the welfare of Nigerian workers.
