Nigerian Army Reiterates Commitment to Invest Resources in Research and Development
The Nigerian Army says it will continue to invest its resources in the areas of research and development with the sole aim of achieving its quest for industrial and technological development.
This is owing to the fact that research and development are the basis of industrialization of many countries around the globe in which the Nigerian Army cannot be left behind.
Commander Training and Doctrine Command TRADOC of the Nigerian Army, Major General Kevin Aligbe stated this while declaring opened a three day Nigerian Army Research and Development Conference twenty twenty four held in Minna the Niger state capital.
Represented by the Director Joint and Combined Doctrine Nigerian Army Major General Jafaru Mohammed, the TRADOC Commander Major General Kevin Aligbe said Nigeria is blessed with both material and brains to make use of and what is left is for them to harness and galvanized such materials and human resources to achieve its developmental goals.
According to him participants were drawn from the Nigeria Air Force, other security agencies and para military within Niger state for meaningful cross fertilization of ideas and minds towards achieving the set target of technical development.
Major General Kevin Aligbe however thanked the Chief Of Army Staff Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja for being supportive always which he said was responsible for most of the successes recorded by the TRADOC Nigerian Army Minna.
In his welcome address the Chief of Research Development Test and Evaluation, Major General Mohammed Danja explained that the conference provides an avenue for participants to be up to speed with current happenings in Emerging Technologies and how these can be utilized in modern warfare to facilitate success in battle field.
He said today we stand at the threshold of a new era where technological advancements are redefining industries, revolutionizing the way we live, work and unlocking unpresidented opportunities in both civil and military domains.
The theme of the conference is “Leveraging Research and Development In Emerging Technologies as a Panacea for Success in Modern Warfare Within a Joint Environment.
