The Federal Government says it will not interfere in the petrol pricing controversy between the NNPCL and Dangote Refinery.

The Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Mr. Bayo Onanuga, stated this in Abuja while fielding questions from State House correspondents on the subject matter.

He explained that petrol was a deregulated commodity, and that NNPCL as a limited liability company, had the right to fix its price just as Dangote also having the right to sell its products at any cost.

Mr. Onanuga said if consumers of the product were not satisfied with the prices quoted by both companies, they could look for alternative sources of cheaper petrol.

He however urged citizens owning vehicles to convert them to CNG, saying that the government plans to subsidise the cost of conversion for about a million of such vehicles.
