The National Orientation Agency (NOA) has initiated a nationwide grassroots sensitization campaign to emphasize the importance of the National Anthem and the National Values Charter.
Speaking at a press briefing in Lafia, the capital of Nasarawa State, NOA Director General, Mallam Lanre Onilu, explained that the campaign is part of efforts to foster closer engagement with citizens and communicate government policies at the community level.
Represented by the agency’s Director of Finance and Accounts, Mallam Haruna Sule, Onilu highlighted the significance of each line of the National Anthem as a symbol of unity, urging Nigerians to embrace patriotism and positive attitudes despite the nation’s diversity.
The campaign aligns with President Bola Tinubu’s administration’s commitment to improving the welfare of citizens through the effective implementation of policies.
Dr. Priscilla Goanduoalour, Nasarawa State Director of the NOA, added that the National Values Charter serves as a guiding document that strengthens the relationship between the people and their leaders.
She further stressed the importance of protecting national symbols, describing them as critical assets of identity, respect, and dignity.
