BENUE STATE MINISTRY OF HEALTH TO INTENSIFY IMMUNIZATION COVERAGE IN HARD TO REACH AREAS.
The Ministry of Health and Human Services is to intensify efforts in immunization and Surveillance especially in hard to reach and undeserved communities across the state.
Commissioner for Health and Human Services, Dr Yanmar Ortese stated this at a media briefing to commemorate this year’s World Polio Day held at the Conference Hall of the Ministry in Makurdi.
He assured that, the Ministry would sustain and build on the journey towards a polio-free future by ensuring that every child is immunized against polio and other childhood killer diseases in addition to working with local leaders to foster trust in immunization services and empower communities with accurate information as well as accessible services.
Dr Ortese maintained that his office leverage on the success so far attained the further strengthen health care systems for Sustainability.
Correspondent Ene Ohaba reports that there was a sensitization road walk from BSU first gate to the State Secretariat to enlighten the public on the imortance of of immunization against polio and other infectious diseases.
The theme for his year’s World Polio Day is “Vaccine Works For All”.
