Davido sets new record with 4.82 million streams on Spotify
Afrobeats star Davido has set a new record on Spotify Nigeria with his latest single Funds, which garnered 4.82 million streams in just one week.
The track, featuring Odumodublvck and Chike, now holds the record for the highest number of streams in a single week on the platform, surpassing Wizkid’s Kese (Dance), which previously held the title with 4.72 million streams.
Davido responded to the achievement in his signature style, sharing the news on his Instagram story with the phrase, “We believe in God.”
The 31-year-old singer has become known for breaking records, adding this new milestone to his growing list of accomplishments.
In a recent appearance on The Baller Alert Show, Davido explained his decision to feature Odumodublvck and Chike on Funds.
He expressed his pride in showcasing Nigerian talent, referring to Odumodublvck as “the current biggest rapper in Nigeria” and Chike as “the Bryson Tiller of Nigeria,” emphasising their popularity among fans, particularly female listeners.
