CHARITY FOUNDATION ORGANISES 1ST OJOPE CHRISTMAS FUNFAIR

A Non- Governmental organization, Joy Inspired Widows and Children Foundation has organized the maiden edition of Ojope Christmas Funfair to create moments of joy among members of the various districts in Ojope community, Apa Local Government Area of Benue State.
The day started with a prayer walk which enabled the women commit Ojope land and the entire Idoma nation in God’s hand.


Three hundred widows and the vulnerable, drawn from twenty eight districts in Ojope community were given food and non food materials including wrappers, bags of rice, seasoning cubes, salt among others to give them a sense of belonging.
A medical outreach was also carried out to test for diabetes, malaria, typhoid and high Blood pressure as well as pregnancy kits given to pregnant women.
Head of the Medical team, Isaiah Ameh explained that free drugs were given to those who had various illnesses and counseling services given to others on how to maintain a healthier lifestyle.
Founder Joy Inspired Widow and Children Foundation, Mrs Joy Okpaimo said the gesture was her little way of giving back to the community where she comes from and promised to make it a yearly event.
Mrs Okpaimo assured that with time, the foundation would extend the gesture to cover the whole of Apa Local Government Area and the state at large.
A football tournament which commenced on the fifteenth of December , 2024 saw two teams, Ojope United FC and Igoro Town Team play at the final competition where Ojope United FC won the trophy as well as cash amount of three hundred thousand naira .
