Bayero University, Kano (BUK) has expelled 62 students and rusticated 17 others over alleged involvement in examination malpractice, reinforcing its commitment to academic integrity.
The decision was reached during the university’s 421st Senate meeting held on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, according to the institution’s official bulletin.

The reassignment follows Kanu’s repeated requests for Justice Binta Nyako to recuse herself from the trial, citing concerns over impartiality. While Justice Nyako had previously returned the case file to the Chief Judge, it was later reassigned to her, a move Kanu and his legal team strongly opposed.
