Radio Nigeria Precious FM Lafia came into being on a Frequency Modulation Band of 102.5 as part of the initiative of the Federal Government to establish FM Stations to completely connect the country with effective Radio Services. The station is located on the Hills of Akurba, 7KM along Shendam Road in Lafia the Nasarawa State Capital.
Precious FM Lafia was formally commissioned on the 13th Day of March, 2003 by Chief Solomon D. Lar, the then National Chairman of the ruling People Democratic Party, PDP. At the occasion were the First Executive Governor of Nasarawa State, Alhaji Abdullahi Adamu – who donated the land housing the Station and the then Honourable Minister of Information and Orientation, Professor Jerry Gana as well as the representative of the then Director General of FRCN, Mr. Eddie Iroh, Mr. Tajudeen Akanbi the Director Special duties of the Corporation.
Since 2003 when it came on string, Precious FM has consistently been serving the information and communication needs of the people of Nasarawa State and parts of the neighbouring states of Benue, Kogi, Plateau, Taraba and Kaduna as well as the FCT with scintillating news and programmes.
The Station has seven department viz: Accounts and Finance Administration, Audit, Engineering, Marketing, Programmes and News and Current Affairs.
SOME ENGLISH PROGRAMMES
SAY IT WELL
This is a 45 minutes audience participatory programme. It is a phone-in interactive platform anchored by the Duty Continuity Announcer, where members of the public call in to discuss issues of development as they affect their immediate vicinities. The programme runs from 06.15-07:00am on week days only. Say it well discusses issues of hygiene, sanitation, self-help initiatives as well as security and other development related activities as they affect the citizenry.
SOMETHING TO REMEMBER
A Saturday-to-Saturday musical tonic that parades specially selected old tunes of the 60s; 70s; and 80s as well as the early 90s. It is presented by an astute apostle of music to remember, Mr. Ishaq Oshafu aka ‘The air Navigator’. It is one of PFM’s revered entertainment programmes and commands huge followership, and aired between 13.30 and 14.30Hrs.
THE LABOUR OF OUR HEROES
Identifying, recognizing and honouring past and present heroes of the Nigerian project dead or alive is the focal point of this programme. It chronicles the life, time and attainments of prominent Nigerians who have contributed in one way or the other to the growth and development of the Nigerian nation. Precisely those who have touched the lives of people from community level to the highest height of human endeavour are featured on this Programme. A consortium of dependable producers and presenters in the shades of Jessica Shom, Aliyu Ibrahim anchor the Programme under the tutelage of the General Manager. It comes up 17:30 – 18:00Hrs every Thursday.
PEOPLES AND LANGUAGES OF NASARAWA STATE
Another Programme that commands massive followership owing to its cultural orientation. The programme features the history, traditions and cultures of the different ethnic groups that inhabit the state. It is a magazine programme type that features interviews, cultural artefacts and music. Anchored by Timothy Adokwa and Amowun Oshafu, it comes up every Sunday from 09:30-10:10 Hrs.
CHILDREN’S TIME
This is a Programme for children, particularly school children as a platform for them to share and exhibit their talent. It is usually and professionally packaged by the duo of Esther Ena and Kwapaya Bwala.
YOUTH HEALTH
This programme titles is synonymous with the name Jessica Saaka and Alidi Joseph. As the name suggests, it is a thirty minutes health programme aired every Friday by 17.00Hrs
WOMEN’S WORLD
An award winning programme produced by Jessica Shom, which highlights gender related issues from 16:30hrs every Monday.

ZABEN MUSHAKATA
A Hausa language request programme that is a daily feature on the stable of Precious FM Lafia. It is aired twice in the morning and afternoon Hausa belts. The programme features reading of request cards and a blend of beautiful mix grill of Hausa musicals.
FILIN NAKASASSU
Filin Nakasassu is a half hour Hausa programme designed for the physically challenged also referred to as people living with disabilities to share their life experiences, challenges and accomplishments, it is broadcast every Tuesday between 15:30 and 16:00Hrs with Ahmed Babangida
ARZIKI NA GONA
This programme highlights and emphasizes the significance of farming and agricultural activities as the main stay of the economy of the people. It is a thirty minutes programme marshalled by Musa Abdullahi Abuja
JIRWAYE DA KAMAR WANKA
A drama production aimed at addressing development issues and social ills in the society. It is billed for every Sunday from 11:30Hrs and is produced by Muhammed Auwal Abdallah.
